I've just graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, whew what a hellish 4 years that was. Don't let anyone tell you art school is easy. I studied Mechanical Engineering before settling on Industrial Design and couldn't be happier. I work at a small design firm in West Bend, WI. It's tough writing about oneself... I am a warm, witty and attractive woman who has been busy with life as a single mom. Who am I? I'm a person who really despises this question. How can I tell you who I am? That's like saying tell me you're a nice guy, would you really believe me if I did, probably not. I think that the best way to know someone, or get to know me is not by reading a questionnaire, but by having coffee with me, taking a walk with me and my puppy, read my poetry or go and hear a band play, or hey what about a phone conversation, do people still do that?

Well it's been a year since i've updated my profile and decided today will be the day so here goes. I'm still the easy to get along with type of person who dosen't judge. As each day passes I notice growth within myself I see things in a different eye now. things that were not as clear to me are. I'm learning not to be selfish and when I say selfish it not in terms as everything is me me me but every day life experience ,but being so use to people always doing things your way can cause you to become selfish without even thinking twice. I'm trying to give people the benefit of doubt which seems so hard to do when within these past few years I've had my trust taken for granted but i'm working on it and have the guts to admit it. I have the tendency to sometimes think about the future never realizing that what counts is now you can never go back to that moment physically and once it's gone it's gone. I want the simple things out of life you know the things you can't put a price on but find it so hard to find someone that wants the same (very independent) but no one seems to realize those are the things that counts the most. well at least not the people I run into it's always about money ,when we place the value on money. Letâ??s start off with an introduction; Hi, Iâ??m John! Some key pieces of information about me are available at the top of your browser and on the left. There is one piece of information up top that is not entirely accurate. I am transsexual, so Iâ??m in the process of changing my gender from male to female. Also Iâ??m really only interested in females, so Iâ??m not sure if that means Iâ??m straight or lesbian since Iâ??m technically still male, but whatever.

Job: Right now I own a comic book store, but Iâ??m getting ready to sell it either this year or next. It may seem like an easy job and if you come into the store it looks like weâ??re screwing around all the time. But I actually work about 50-55 hours a week. Itâ??s not a bad job, the pay is decent, ok benefits, but after doing it for 14 years, Iâ??m bored.

School: I just started going back to school part time at MATC for my business administration degree. I did college one back in the mid 1990s, but dropped out due to failing calculus and I didnâ??t feel like going to school at the time. Once I sell my business I will be going back full time to get my degree from UWM.

- I actually do drink 8+ glasses of water a day.

I am very quiet in group settings, I seem to be very shy, but I don't really think I am.

Well here it goes..... On the surface I probably seem basic but I couldnt be more of the opposite. I come from a rough upbringing and have managed to keep my life pretty much on track. I can be very outgoing, fun, goofy and then there are days when I am more private and secluded. If I love you or care about you then you know it. I am very close and involved in peoples lives who are around me. I love meeting new people and can make conversation with just about anyone but I hate people who show off or act like they have something to prove to others about themselves.

Let's see, how does one boil down into a couple of sentances it has taken me a lifetime to create. Me I am just a man, on this journey called life. Mostly clueless, a father , a grandfather, a brother, a friend.
Not so complex, yet not so simple to be boiled down to a couple of short paragraphs. I enjoy playing with my grandaughters, listening to the blues, time with my daughter. And playin' with my computer, art shows, concerts, and cooking, even been to a tractor pull. Whitty, sassy, shy and bold. Ya just gotta try it to see if you like it.

I'm shy, and it takes me a bit to really feel comfortable with someone, but once I do I'm funny and can carry on intelligent conversations in a variety of subject areas. I love the arts, both participating in and viewing them. I love the theater, especially musicals (I think life would be better if people burst into song and dance numbers), and movies. I can talk about books for hours (but I don't have to, I can control it). Traveling is another favorite, and though the list of places I've been to is long, the list of ones I still want to explore is even longer. I'm easy going, honest and altruistic, and prefer others who are too.

I'm Irish (not Irish-American, just ordinary "from Ireland" Irish).

I'm into music, books, politics, sports (watching, not playing). Pretty much anything can interest me - just about the only thing I have failed to find interesting in my entire life is American Football. Actually, that's not even true, because it fascinates me as to why I can't sit through a game. I mean, I've watched cricket, for pete's sake. As long as there's potential for minute analysis and humour (and/or humor), I'm interested.

I like words a lot. I like knowing the etymologies of words and guessing how they came to mean what they did and what other meanings are hidden in them and things like that.

I sound awful. These things are hard.

Self-Summary.... you can't really summarize a person can you? I will let actual in person conversations do that whole job but to get a small idea of what I might be.. here are a few descriptions: compassionate, giving, fun to be around, adventerous, artistic, creative, deep thinker, spontaneous..

It's hard to sum yourself up in a few words. I guess I am just me, I like what I like, and it changes from time to time. I am caring, and loyal blah blah blah.

I just love enjoying every day as it is, with no worries of what is to come further down the road, or even what I plan to do. For now I am just working on becoming a better person, and a better me. The last few years have been rough for me. The loss of friends, family and surviving cancer and depression but I have come out the other side. Hopefully stronger and better for it.

That's not to say I don't have goals, cause I do. They just might not be what most people may think they should be.

I am not materialistic, I do not define myself by social status, job, possessions, or anything else most people live for. I have gotten rid of it all and moved across the country quite a few times. I have lived in WI, FL, NM, IA and now I am back in Milwaukee again. I still want to see so much more of the country.

That being said, I won't judge you by your car or job or lack of, as long as you do the same for me. I am pretty laid back, but there are a few things that bug me, including men old enough to be my father, lazy spelling (I'm a bad speller, but I try not to be) desperation and people who try to tell me how to live my life (more so when they don't have theirs together).

If you've seen (500) Days of Summer you should know I connected so well with the title character. Perfectly normal guy, social, good looking, yet seems to have the worst of luck with relationships. I loved his line about getting the girl "in a world where good things" happen to him. I'm not whining, I am charming and charismatic, and I can meet and befriend people with very little effort, but when it comes to finding a female to connect with, it becomes much more difficult.

I always get asked why I come on Craigslist. The truth is I don't know. I don't really need this place, but at the same time I do. The fail rate on this place is like 94%, and my spam folder is in the 1000s of spambot emails I've received by using this place. But CL provides me with a little sanity, and maybe a little hope of meeting that girl I'm looking for. That little 1 hour window in which I eagerly open an email from the girl with the qualities I am looking for, but it never happens. I have a lot of love to give, and I see all my friends around me, and former love interests, in long meaningful relationships or even engaged, and I want someone to share an experience like that with. Maybe that girl is out here for the same reasons as I, who knows? It can be depressing being alone. I could easily be not alone, but I just refuse to settle for the sake of a relationship, it would feel like it was based on a big lie.

I've already met my Summer, and she is gone, she found her special person. I haven't been as lucky, I'm still looking for Autumn. I guess the right circumstances and conditions have not occurred. Every relationship I've been in except for one has felt forced, as if I was trying to force nature to make chemistry happen. Alas, I am no longer trying to force anything, I want to meet a woman where the chemistry is natural, not forced. Clubs and bars are great for hook-ups, but those leave me feeling empty and it feels kind of like living from paycheck to paycheck, simply holding yourself over until the next one. I am not satisfied with that any more. I am looking for a girl to adore, to love spending time with, a girl that I think about when she is not around. A girl I can tell my deepest secrets too, a girl to argue with but still know it'll be great in the end. A girl that makes me feel like I'm high on drugs just being around her. I was close to this girl once but I lost her. Now I'm looking for Autumn.
